Artist Information

Cody Heichel is an Ohio-based watercolorist whose work is inspired by his surroundings. His paintings serve as a visual commentary on the people and structures he encounters. Heichel explores the idea of place identity by focusing on subjects and compositions found on the periphery of his environment.

Heichel’s work is represented by Brandt-Roberts Galleries in Columbus, Ohio. He is a Signature Member of both the National Watercolor Society and The Ohio Watercolor Society, and an Associate Member of the American Watercolor Society. He was awarded the 2017 Greater Columbus Arts Council Visual Arts Fellowship. Additional awards include a 2017 Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Arts Council, and First Place in the 2017 Ohio Plein Air Society Annual Competition.
