Curated Tours and Historic Architecture Added to Cbus ArtWalks App

in Press Releases July 28, 2021 2 min read

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Cbus ArtWalks app, developed in collaboration between the Greater Columbus Arts Council (Arts Council) and Can’t Stop Cbus, a community-wide volunteer effort launched in response to the pandemic, is being updated as V1.2.

The new update adds curated tours to the ArtWalks app. The themed tours help guests explore collections of public art situated within walking distance of each other, including highlights like the River Walk Tour and the Tour of Landmark Sculptures by African American Artists. The tours can also be viewed at

The Arts Council has also partnered with Columbus Public Health to make Cbus ArtWalks the primary app for public art in Columbus. Historic architecture will be added to the app’s database when V2.0 is released later this fall, in addition to other enhancements including filtering by type of art and the ability to create a user profile and personal gallery of favorite public art.

The Cbus ArtWalks app can be downloaded from both the Apple and Google for Android app stores. Direct download links are available at

Using data from the Columbus Makes Art Public Art database launched in late 2019, the Cbus ArtWalks app guides residents and visitors to Columbus’ extensive collection of outdoor and indoor public art by enabling browsing by neighborhood or searching for art by title or artist name. Photos and descriptions of each of the more than 1,200 pieces of public art in central Ohio are included, as well as links to more information where available. To continue expanding the database, the Cbus ArtWalks app provides an easy way for users to submit art to be added.

“We’re very excited to bolster the reach of the ArtWalks app by partnering with Columbus Public Health,” said Jami Goldstein, vice president of marketing, communications and events for the Arts Council. “Our mission is to continue making it easy for people to find public art and historic architecture and to make it fun and healthy to do so.”
